Easy Brownies

An easy chocolate brownie recipe that's simple to make and tastes fantastic. It's everything you want in a brownie – rich, fudgy and chocolatey.
These brownies are so easy to make, all you need to prepare them is a whisk and a large pan, to bake them a 25x25cm square baking tin and some parchment paper.

Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 40 minutes
Ingredients
225g butter
400g caster sugar
140g dark chocolate, broken into pieces
5 free-range medium eggs
110g plain flour
55g cocoa powder
Instructions
Pre heat the oven to 190C/170C Fan/Gas 5.
Line a 25x25cm square baking tin with baking parchment.
Gently melt the butter and the sugar together in a large pan over a low heat.
Once melted, take off the heat and add the chocolate. Stir until melted.
Beat in the eggs one at a time.
Stir in the rest of the ingredients, try not to over beat
Pour mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 30–40 minutes, or until the top of the brownie is firm but the inside still feels soft.
Take out of the oven and leave to cool in the tin.
Cut into 9 pieces if you want decent sized pieces, or 16 smaller pieces.
Tips
Have your eggs at room temperature
Don't rapidly melt the butter and sugar at the start of the recipe
Want to reheat a day or 2 later? Put it in the microwave for 30 seconds on high
Serve with ice cream
